Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession for Trinity Sunday

Ground and source of all that is,
one that anchors all our roots,
Being of all ways and forms,
deepest home and final truth.
We live and move in you.
We live and move in you.

Holy God, you escape our feeble attempts to capture you in words but you hold us always in your own heart. Open our ears to discern the whisper of your Spirit, open our eyes to see Christ in our neighbour, and open our hearts to make room for all your creatures.
We live and move in you.

Ground of all being, our very existence is an expression of your life. Our human diversity is an expression of your eternal delight in change and development. As we claim our place within the web of life, make us a blessing to others.
We live and move in you.

Word of life who calls us from darkness into light, may the character of Christ be formed in us so that we may truly be your hands, your feet and your compassion in this broken and divided world.
We live and move in you.

Spirit of holiness, move gently but irresistibly through our lives, our homes, our churches and our work places. Raise up what has collapsed, heal what is broken, reinvigorate what has become tired and renew the face of the earth.
We live and move in you.

May the sacred unity which you enjoy through all eternity be our blessing here as well. Draw us beyond ourselves so we can spend our lives for others and for you.
We live and move in you.

We pray for those suffering as a result of natural disaster, civil strife, famine and war.
We live and move in you.

We pray for those who work to relieve suffering and bring aid to people in need.
We live and move in you.

We remember those who have requested our prayers at this time, especially xxx .
We live and move in you.

We thank you for all those who have gone before us in the life of faith, and especially xxx and xxx whose year’s mind occurs at this time. Grant us the courage to serve you here and now as they did in their own times and places. We live and move in you.

Call to kindness, call to serve,
freedom for our chosen course,
Guide and friend for all who dream,
nourished by our ground and source.
We live and move in you.
We live and move in you.
