Texts

(1) John 20:24-29

But Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe." 26 A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said,"Peace be with you." 27 Then he said to Thomas,"Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe." 28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Jesus said to him,"Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe."

(John 20:24–29 GNT-T)

(2) Luke 24:36-43

While they were talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them,"Peace be with you." 37 They were startled and terrified, and thought that they were seeing a ghost. 38 He said to them,"Why are you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is I myself. Touch me and see; for a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." 40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41 While in their joy they were disbelieving and still wondering, he said to them,"Have you anything here to eat?" 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate in their presence.

(Luke 24:36–43 GNT-T)

(3a) Ap. Jas. 8:3

"As long as I am with you, pay attention to me and obey me; but when I take leave of you, remember me. Remember me because I was with you, though you did not know me. Congratulations to those who have known me. 6 Damn those who have heard and have not believed. Congratulations to those who have not seen [but] have [had faith]. [Complete Gospels]

(3b) Ap. Jas. 3:3-5

And when he called these two, he took them aside, and commanded the rest to carry on with what they had been doing.
2 The Savior said, "You have received mercy [...] become [...] they wrote [...] book, as [...] to you [...] and just as [...] they [...] hear and [...] they [...] understand. 3 So don't you want to be filled? And is your heart drunk? So don't you want to be sober? 4 You ought, then, to be ashamed! 5 And now, waking or sleeping, remember that you have seen the son of Adam, and with him have you spoken, and to him have you listened. 6 Damn those who have seen the son [of] Adam. 7 Congratulations to those who have not seen that man, and who have not associated with him, and who have not spoken with him, and who have not listened to a thing from him. Yours is life! 8 Know, therefore, that he treated you when you were sick, so that you might reign. 9 Damn those who have been relieved of their sickness, for they will relapse again into sickness. 10 Congratulations to those who have not been sick, and have experienced relief before they became sick. God's domain belongs to you! 11 Therefore, I say to you, become full and leave no place within you empty, or else the one who is coming will be able to mock you." [Complete Gospels]

(4) Ign, Smyr 3:1-3

For I know that after His resurrection also He was still possessed of flesh, and I believe that He is so now. When, for instance, He came to those who were with Peter, He said to them, "Lay hold, handle Me, and see that I am not an incorporeal spirit." And immediately they touched Him, and believed, being convinced both by His flesh and spirit. For this cause also they despised death, and were found its conquerors. And after his resurrection He did eat and drink with them, as being possessed of flesh, although spiritually He was united to the Father. [ANF]
