JESUS BLUES CHRIST or PASSION WEEK BLUES
(With Assistance from Ray Charles)

"You are my favored son -- I fully appove of you!"

What, WHAT, WHAT?
Are you out of your mind?
You're putting that on me? I'm outta here! (1)
And don't give me that crap about an
Open arms welcome home. (2)

I'm going down to the Jordan,
Down to the Jordan and drown myself.
Yeah, I'm going down to the Jordan,
Down to the Jordan and drown myself.
I'm sick and tired of this misery
Deep down, way deep down in my heart. (3)

Stomp'n and a snort'n,
Get the hell out of my sight! (4)
The pressure's begun a build'n.

Visual darts fly'n around,
Exaspiration abounds!
Question'n the obvious sucks. (5)

A Groan'n and a moan'n,
Disgust'n distrust'n lot.
No-sign endurance is losing gas. (6)

My heart is deep in heartache
Blues is my middle name.
My heart is deep in heartache
Blues is my middle name.

Trying hard don't matter,
I'm mistreated just the same.
And now you know it seems
True liv'n just brings on pain. (7)

Jesus is a sweat'n,
James and John a sleep'n,
Judas is a com'n,
The crowd is a yell'n,
Caiaphas is wait'n,
Peter is deny'n,
Pilate is a fume'n,
Soldier is a scourg'n,
God is....Hey, where's the cup remover?

Please tell my mother,
Tell her the shape I'm in.
O yeah, Please tell my mother,
She's seen my crazy liv'n. (8)

It's snowing baby,
mournful on the cold cold ground.
Yeah, it's snowing baby,
mournful on the cold cold ground.
Gloom and misery,
gloom and misery, it's all around.

Now, if I die today,
who's going to cry for me.
Yeah, If I die today,
who's going to cry for me,
Get noth'n from hang'n
'cept these blues and misery. (9)

(a painful numbing reverie)
Oh Galilee, Galilee
The whole day through.
A warm sweet song
Keeps Galilee on my mind.
Other arms reach out for you,
Other eyes smile tenderly,
Still in peaceful dreams

I see the road leads back to you. (10)

Newsflash: The eleven disciples went to the mountain in Galilee where Jesus had told them to go. And when they saw him, they paid homage to him, BUT SOME WERE DUBIOUS. (11)

Eleven divided by Dubious, Blues is My Middle Name.
