TWISTING ON PSYCHOLOGICAL ROPE

It's not a far distance
from
dipping bread
in the red wine of covenant
to
dripping red
in the field of the damned. (Acts 1:18-19)

It's not a far distance
from
It would be better
had you not been born
to
It would be better
had I not been born.

It's not a far distance
from
unrelenting
attribution by another
to
unrelenting
attribution by oneself.

It's not a far distance
from
placing conditional value
on self-worth.
to
placing conditional value
on another's worth

It's not a far distance
from
the kingdom aspirations
of Jesus or Caesar
to
the kiss of Judas
and the knife of Brutus.

It's not a far distance
from
feeling remorse
and throwing the silver
to
running out
and hanging oneself. (Mt 27:3-4)

Not a far distance at all,

and there's hell to pay.
