(1) Thom 16
Jesus said, "Perhaps people think that I have come to cast peace upon the world. 2 They do not know that I have come to cast conflicts upon the earth: fire, sword, war. 3 For there will be five in a house: there'll be three against two and two against three, father against son and son against father, 4 and they will stand alone." [Complete Gospels]
No copies of this portion of Thomas survive in Greek. For the Coptic version see [Early Christian Writings]
2) 2Q: Luke 12:51-53
"Do you think that I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division! 52 From now on five in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three; 53 they will be divided: father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."
= Matt 10:34-36
"Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 and one's foes will be members of one's own household."
(Matthew 10:34–40 GNT-T)
