On Mark 9:35b,37

Mark already found both sayings in their secondary version addressed to the community ... As the following sayings are also addressed quite specifically to community problems, the question alrrady arises at this point whether a short community catechism has been worked into 9.33-50. ... In both sayings the spirit of Jesus is sometimes rediscovered. ... But such an analysis must remain unsatisfactory. (Jesus, 64)

On Luke 10:16

Jesus did not utter the saying in its present wording, because the transference of the authority of Jesus to the disciples presupposes the situation of the community (cf. on Matt. 18.5). (Jesus, 329)
